Letters: What people are saying about those other "editors"

Here are some real comments extracted from emails people have sent me over the years. If you've had a bad experience with one of those other "editors", you're not alone!

"...I tried Frontpage once with my code. It instaneously added several (thousand) more tags to my HTML. I have never used it since..." -- Cory W.

"I used to use F***page (sorry I couldn't help it), and now I know how badly it would mess up my stuff. Yuck." -- Karina R.

"I used notepad to remove the trash from Frontpage generated pages and found it took longer than writing from scratch." -- Mike S.

"I used to use FrontPage for everything, not 'cause I couldn't hand code, but just because I was too lazy... but when I figured out that FP doesn't like Iframes, or DIV layers, or script stuff, or css, or anything, I decided just to go back to good old notepad." -- Matt L.

"...A computer class I took in school ... included web design. We were taught basic HTML ... and we used Notepad. Then, in an attempt to show us how various pages were made, the teacher had us create a page using Netscape Composer. Uck! ... So many options just weren't available." -- Jenny M.

"For the record, I have never even seen frontpage or any of those other fancy html editors. why mess with them when you can just use pad and get something out of it?" -- Alan J.

"I totally support your site; I simply hate HTML editors ... they screw up the entire coding and everything." -- Sanne V.

"I once tried using DreamWeaver for a class, but just ended up writing the HTML myself anyway." -- Jason B.
